Rev. Delport was born in raised in South Africa. He grew up on a farm near a small town in the Orange Free State. While still in High School his family immigrated to Paraguay. There he attended High School in Spanish/German and for his last two years in he attended Asuncion International School of Tomorrow. On warm summer’s day in 1997 his family immigrated to a cold winter’s day in Canada.
Rev. Delport attended Trent University in Peterborough. He was also the recipient of the “Organic Prize in Chemistry” and received an “Honourable Mention” for his undergrad project at the Southern Ontario University Student Chemistry Conference. He graduated with a HB.Sc in Biochemistry and spend one year working in a laboratory. In 2003 he started his seminary training at the Presbyterian College in Montreal. He received a B.Th from McGill and in 2006 graduated from with his M.Div from the Presbyterian College. He was also the recipient of the “Graduate Society Award for Contribution to the life of the College.”
In 2006 he accepted a call to St. Andrew’s (Innisfail) and West Park (Red Deer) in Alberta. In 2011 he accepted a call to St. Giles in Calgary.
Rev. Delport is passionate about the teaching aspect of ministry and finds great joy in discovering the lessons we find in God’s Word. He enjoys photography, astronomy, gardening, and baking bread.
