Good morning!
Big or small, every act of love reflects God’s presence—just like the Good Samaritan, who showed mercy without hesitation. When we choose compassion over convenience, we’re not just talking about faith—we’re living it joyfully and meaningfully, one moment at a time. May each day give us new opportunities to be good neighbors and share God’s love through kindness, compassion, and grace.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to the success of the Pancake Breakfast last Sunday. It takes many hands to pull it all together. So, to those who set up, took down, shopped, cooked, served, and washed up we are very grateful. You created a warm and welcoming atmosphere for the approximately 140 guests who joined us for some Stampede hospitality, with a definite hoedown flavour!
Another Email Fraud/Impersonation Scam
Please be aware that yet another scam is going around this time with someone claiming to be Rev. Chandra requesting the purchase of gift cards for some purpose. This is a fraudster trying to impersonate Chandra and steal money from well-meaning members of our church. Know that Chandra and St. Giles will NEVER request you purchase gift cards of any kind. The best thing you can do it just delete the emails and/or texts, don’t respond in any way. If you have questions, please contact Kelly Martin.
Evening Bible Study- Monday – July 14 at 7PM
Join us in Confederation Park for a relaxed and meaningful evening as we dive into the Book of Joel together and connect with one another and our neighbours in the beauty of the outdoors. All are welcome!
Rev. Chandra Appointed Interim Moderator at Centennial Church
Rev. Chandra has been named the Interim Moderator of Centennial Church. She will be supporting them in their time of being without a minister, moderating their session, providing leadership as they step into preparations of seeking a minister, and will occasionally perform funerals, baptism and occasional preaching. Please hold Centennial Church and Reverend Chandra in your prayers as we support them during this transition and transformation time.
Card Tables Needed
Do you have a card table at home that you would like to donate to St. Giles? Or…please watch for them as you browse Garage Sales this summer. Thanks for your help!
BIBLE STUDY: Every Wednesday at 10:15 AM
AFTERNOON SERVICES: For those who are unable to attend morning services, there is an afternoon study and prayer at 1:30PM every Sunday at St. Giles led by Rev. Chandra.
July 13 – 5th Sunday after Pentecost: This Sunday, our service will be led by our minister Reverend Chandra, with our choir director Malcolm Edwards, the St. Giles Choir, and Eric Connell joining us on bagpipes.
This week’s Scripture readings—Deuteronomy 30:10–15, Colossians 1:3–6, 13–14, and Luke 10:25–37—remind us that God’s Word is not distant or hidden from us; it is near, alive, and calls us to action. As we draw closer to God, may we also draw closer to our neighbor, living out the Gospel in everyday acts of grace and kindness.
SCRIPTURE PASSAGE FOR REFLECTION:
“But the word is very near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart, so that you may obey it.”
Deuteronomy 30:14
