Good afternoon!
Every day is filled with God’s blessings, even in the smallest moments, often in ways we don’t even notice. When we pause and look closely, we can see His love all around us—just as we felt through the love and care you showed us last Sunday.
Our hearts are deeply grateful for your kind words, hugs, well wishes, and gifts to the money flower bouquet. Your thoughtfulness truly means so much to us. THANK YOU! God bless you all!

Thursday September 4 is the first rehearsal of the choir as we prepare for a new season of leading worship. We do a variety of sacred (and secular) repertoire that encompasses the last five centuries – and all of it is quality music. I am aware of the usual objections – “I don’t have time – I can’t sing -I’m busy on a Thursday evening – and so instead of the negatives, let me give you a few positives;
1. Everyone can sing -it is a learned skill -not a genetic endowment
2. Singing in a choir is a way to learn about music in a deep visceral way – and if you have never experienced singing in harmony, you have missed out on one of life’s highest pleasures.
3. We speak of playing soccer or baseball – but we also speak of playing music. There is a play aspect, a creative element to music that speaks to our need to bring beauty and artistry into the world. A choir is a wonderful medium that allows you to do this.
Should you be interested, please speak with Malcolm V. Edwards or, better still, show up on Thursday evening at 7 p.m.

AFTERNOON SERVICES: For those who are unable to attend morning services, there is an afternoon study and prayer at 1:30PM every Sunday at St. Giles led by Rev. Chandra.
August 31 – 12th Sunday after Pentecost: This Sunday, our service will be led by our Malcolm Edwards, Cathy and Carmen, our representative of the choir who are on summer break, and our minister Rev. Chandra. This week’s Scripture readings are from Jeremiah 2:11-13, Hebrews 13:1-8, 15-16, and Luke 14: 1,7-14. These passages invite us to return to God as our true source, to let His unchanging love shape our lives, and to pour it out in humility and compassion for others, finding blessing not in what we gain, but in how we serve.
SCRIPTURE PASSAGE FOR REFLECTION:
Jesus said to them, “The ones who put themselves above others will be brought down, but all who humble themselves will be lifted up.” (Luke 11:14, FNVNT)
