Christian Education

Understanding the path of the Christian walk in the world requires life-long learning, self-reflection and prayer. Education is part of the St. Giles vision and one of our core values. Classes are offered for all ages during the year. If you wish to participate in a regular group class, please reach out to an Elder or Rev. Chandra Mannix to discern a personal path of education that will fit your schedule or situation.

Adult Education

  1. Sundays at 11:30am, all are welcome
  2. Membership classes – Sunday evenings starting in November.
  3. Ongoing class – Starting in January 2025, in the Park Room at St. Giles, this class is an open, drop-in style that follows the rhythms and questions of “A Catechism for Today” produced by the Presbyterian Church in Canada. Date and Time TBD
  4. Faith and Theology Thursdays at 10am in the Narthex at St. Giles – come join us for a drop-in class open to all ages. Bring your questions about scripture, your beliefs, and the world in which we live.

Junior and Senior High Education

Classes are held at St. Giles every Sunday at 12:15 pm following the 11:30am worship service for teens at St. Giles.

Elementary Education

Classes are held every Sunday at 11 am at CKPC in the elementary classroom and Dreamcentre at CKPC taught by the Chrisitan Educators of CKPC. They include the 80-100 children from CKPC.

Bible Study

Our Holy Scriptures, the Old and New Testaments of the Bible, are the Living Word of God. It reveals to us the Triune God, and guides us in discerning our Christian walk in the world. Time spent in the Word brings us closer with God and each other, encouraging those relationships. All are welcome to attend our ongoing studies, with no registration necessary.

  1. Fall study of the Books of 1 Thessalonians and 2 Thessalonians – led by Denis Mascardelli in the Park Room at St. Giles at 10:15 am on Wednesdays.
  2. Hebrews study – led by Chandra Mannix at St. Giles on Thursdays at 5:30 pm.
  3. New Year Study on the Books of Ezra and Nehemiah – led by Chandra Mannix in the Library of CKPC – dates and time TBD.
