Good morning!

Just as the sunlight gently warms and brightens everything around us, God’s love brings lasting light to our lives. These sunny days remind us to let go of temporary worries and focus on what truly matters — living with gratitude, kindness, and a heart centered on Him. It’s also the perfect time to enjoy the beauty around us and cherish meaningful moments with our family.

Wear White Picnic – Sunday August 10 – 4PM
Pull out those whites and sunscreen! Once again, St. Giles is hosting a Wear White Picnic. Please bring a salad or cold plate to add to the potluck table. Join us at 4 for games in the backyard of the church with a time of food and fellowship to follow. Tables and chairs will be set up. Please bring your own dinnerware and cutlery. Donations will be gratefully received for the Progress Fund. (Sign up in the narthex to help us know set up numbers.)

Evening Bible Study– Monday at 7PM
Join us in Confederation Park for a relaxed and meaningful evening as we dive into the Book of Joel together and connect with one another and our neighbours in the beauty of the outdoors. All are welcome!

Sonata Week Final Concert – August 8 at 7PM
Come, join us for the grand finale of Sonata Week, featuring outstanding student musicians led by Kathie Corvino. This concert showcases the timeless works of Mozart, Beethoven, and Schubert—three of the greatest composers in history. Don’t miss this unforgettable evening of passion, talent, and musical legacy.

Wedding Invitation – August 20 at 1PM
Aneeta and Bennet, members of the afternoon service, have extended an invitation to us all to witness the exchange of their vows.  This is a wonderful opportunity to encourage this couple, and to connect with the members of the afternoon service.  Please speak to Rev. Chandra if you would like further details, or to RSVP to the event.

Service and Calling Opportunities
DO YOU KNOW YOUR GIFTS? Are you looking for a way to use these gifts to serve God and your community? Whether it’s through music, finance, facilities, or tech, there’s a place for you to make a difference at our church. Come, speak with Rev. Chandra and be part of a team that helps bring our mission to life!

Card Tables Needed
Do you have a card table at home that you would like to donate to St. Giles? Or…please watch for them as you browse Garage Sales this summer. Thanks for your help!

BIBLE STUDIES: Every Monday at 7 pm and Every Wednesday at 10:15 AM

AFTERNOON SERVICESFor those who are unable to attend morning services, there is an afternoon study and prayer at 1:30PM every Sunday at St. Giles led by Rev. Chandra.

August 3 – 8th Sunday after Pentecost: This Sunday, our service will be led by our choir director, Malcolm Edwards, Marni and Jim, our representative of the choir who are on summer break, and our minister Rev. Chandra.

This week’s Scripture readings are from Luke 12:13-21, Hosea 11:1-11 and Colossians 3: 1-4; 12-17. These passages remind us that God invites us to let go of the things that don’t last and instead hold on to what truly endures — His love. May we always put Him first in all that we do, and strive to live our lives with kindness, humility, and thankfulness.

SCRIPTURE PASSAGE FOR REFLECTION:
“And whatever you do in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus,
giving thanks to God the Father through him.”
-Colossians 3
