Good Morning!

Every morning is a blessing, a new chance to serve, love, and grow. When we say yes with an open heart, He equips us with strength and wisdom, no matter who we are or where we are. Trust in Him, step forward in faith, and let His plan unfold in our lives.

Presbytery Survey: The Presbytery of Calgary-Macleod is made up of the ministers and one elder from each congregation.  The presbytery works to encourage healthy congregations and healthy ministers.  A survey has been prepared to gather feedback on how congregations are doing, and to ask what presbytery could do to support them.  We encourage everyone to submit their responses by the deadline of February 28.

St. Giles Website Overview: Join us in the Park Room today at 11:30 to hear from Kelly Martin, the convenor of the Digital Ministry. He will walk us through the new website and explain how to access the Members Portal, a key function of the website to communicate sensitive information with members/adherents exclusively.

Farewell and thank you: Our music leader, Michael, is having to return home unexpectedly to Nova Scotia. We are deeply grateful for his time here. We give thanks for his amazing musical leadership and wish him well in the next stages of his journey. His last worship service is Feb 23.

Every Tuesday – ESL at 1 PM: Join Curt in the St. Giles Park Room. Expand your vocabulary and improve pronunciation while engaging in discussions about daily life, faith, history, and travel. Classes are free!

Bible Studies & “The Chosen” Series:

  • Wednesday Morning, 10:15 AM – Bible study with Denis Mascardelli on 2 Thessalonians.
  • Wednesday, 5:30 PM – “The Chosen,” a powerful series that brings the story of Jesus to life.
  • Wednesday Evening, 7 PM – Bible study with Rev. Chandra on Hebrews.

AFTERNOON SERVICES: For those who are unable to attend morning services, there is an afternoon study and prayer at 1:30PM every Sunday at St. Giles led by Rev. Chandra.

February 9th, Fifth Sunday after Epiphany: This Sunday, our worship will be led by our minister, Chandra, and our music leader, Michael, with the St. Giles Choir. The Bible readings for this week are 1 Corinthians 15:1-11, Luke 5:1-11, and Isaiah 6: 1-8. These passages remind us that God does not call the perfect—He perfects the called. No matter how unworthy we may feel, His grace is enough to transform us and use us for His mission.

SCRIPTURE PASSAGE FOR REFLECTION:

“I passed on to you what was most important and what had also been passed on to me. Christ died for our sins, just as the Scriptures said.  He was buried, and he was raised from the dead on the third day, just as the Scriptures said.”      1 Cor 15
