Good morning!

As daylight saving time ends, we are reminded to slow down and embrace the extra hour we gain. It’s a perfect opportunity to reflect on our lives, spend time with loved ones, or simply enjoy a quiet moment. Let this change remind us that just as time shifts, we too can pause and realign ourselves with what truly matters.

The St. Giles Orchestra concert last Wednesday was a remarkable success, and we are deeply grateful to everyone who participated and contributed to making it a memorable evening. We pray that each of you enjoyed the event.

Jazz Vespers, TODAY, at 4 PM: Join us for “Jazz for All Seasons”, a celebration of jazz music throughout the year. Experience live performances that capture the spirit of each season. Bring your friends and family for a wonderful evening of music and enjoyment!

November 5, 7:30 to 8:30 PM Crossing the River – An Unsettling Memoir by Sandra Hayes Gardiner at Westminster Presbyterian Church: For more details, please check the bulletin in the narthex.

Basket Making, Monday Nov. 11 at 12 PM: We will once again be selling baskets at the Christmas sale and therefore are asking for donations of small items to put in the baskets.  We have found that useful everyday items sell better than decorative items.  Some suggestions of what to donate are listed below:  soap, hand sanitizer, small Kleenex, tea, coffee, chocolates, notepads, tea towels, jam, marmalade, nuts.  Teacups or Christmas mugs are also great as we can fill them to create small “baskets”.  We are also looking for some baskets with no handles and small to medium size.  Please drop donations off in the Church Office marked “for baskets” by Sunday November 10th at the latest.

Cozy Christmas Basket and Bake Sale – Save the Date: Join us after the Sunday service on Sunday December 1. Sandwiches and baking will be for sale in the Park Room and our beautiful Christmas Gift Baskets will once again be available for sale in the Narthex. Thank you for your support!

November 3, 24th Sunday after Pentecost –  Today we are led in worship by Chandra our minister, by our St. Giles choir, and by Esther our Music Director. This week’s Bible verses are from Isaiah 25: 6-9; John 11: 32-44, and Revelation 21: 1-7. Together, these passages remind us that God’s love is victorious, even over death, and that His heart is tender toward our pain. In our daily lives, we can hold on to this promise and live with courage, knowing that in God’s kingdom, love and life prevail over darkness and loss.

SCRIPTURE PASSAGE FOR REFLECTION:

On this mountain He will swallow up the shroud that enfolds all peoples, the sheet that covers all nations; He will swallow up death forever.  The Lord GOD will wipe away the tears from every face and remove the disgrace of His people from the whole earth.” (Isaiah 25:7-8)
